Just recently posted is a nice promotional video for John David Hoptak's wonderful new book The Battle of South Mountain published by The History Press.
South Mountain was but a prelude to the battle of Sharpsburg, the bloodiest single day of the Civil War. In order to understand Sharpsburg it is crucial to know the background story including that of South Mountain.
